Hello world! This is my blog. Thank you for your visit!
Who am I? #
- I’m a software engineer working with Ruby (and Rails) for the last 2 years.
- Bachelor in Administration and International Business.
- Coding bootcamp alumni.
- I love reading blogs and articles about programming and software design (Sandy Metz, Jeremy Evans and Martin Fowler are my favorite authors).
- I like to make lists out of everything.
- The title of this article is a reference to the iconic greeting of one of the most inspiring dev I have known, Andreas Kling.
- In my short career, I had the chance to work wide variety of Rails versions (from 3 to 6), small and large codebases, and also had the responsibility to upgrade most of them.
- I enjoy thinkering about the right way to write code and balancing it with the best way to solve a problem.
- I consider myself a ralentless crafter.
Why am I writing blogs? #
As a developer, I spend most of my time reading blogs or articles to improve my skills and to keep up to date with new trends. As time passes, I feel more confident about my craft and I'd to contribute back to the community. At some point, I'd like to be an active contributor for open source projects such as Rails or SerenityOS.
Likewise, I would like to enhance my writing skills by documenting my learnings. I've also found that teaching is one of the single best ways to learn something new. It can help solidify a familiar practice, iron out the nitty gritty details of something you only know at a surface level, and it can reveal quirks that you would have otherwise never encountered.
Maybe I haven't yet mentioned it, but I also love teaching, and I've done a fair amount of it. So when I can't mentoring regularly IRL, I can use this as another outlet to document my learnings so that both present day me and future me can better utilize that knowledge.
